Wayne dominated in their first action of the wrestling season at home on Nov. 30, beating Bedford-Lenox, 43-24, and Central Decatur, 51-24.
“The Falcons wrestled pretty well for the first meet of the season,” said head coach Joe Nekvinda, “but have plenty of things to improve on before the tough Pride of Iowa Conference tourney in late December.
“Our conditioning was better than our opponents, which helped us win some close matches. Having a nearly full line-up is a huge advantage for us in duals against opponents who often don’t fill several weights. We have several young kids who saw their first varsity action and they worked hard and picked up several wins.”
